2ND ASIA DENGUE SUMMIT (ADS)

The 2nd Asia Dengue Summit (ADS) was held in Manila, Philippines during 1-2 March 2017 and co-convened by five esteemed institutions: The Asian Dengue Vaccination Advocacy (ADVA), the Global Dengue and Aedes-Transmitted Diseases Consortium (GDAC), Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Tropical Medicine and Public Health Network (SEAMEO TROPMED), Fondation Merieux (FMx) and the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) with the objectives of:

• Underscore the need for an integrated approach of on-going mosquito prevention and control efforts and the vaccine to eliminate dengue as a health problem.
• Profile ADVA spokespersons and highlight their views on the need accelerating regional collaboration.

Along with dengue experts from academies and research institutions, The 2nd ADS highlights on the burden of dengue, the management, new vector control strategies and successful vaccine introduction across the region. The summit has also provided a unique opportunity to everyone in the dengue community namely clinicians, researchers, government public health leaders and policymakers to exchange ideas, updates and achievements on dengue management strategies for the region.
